Financial Planning Process 



Goals and Objectives

 

There are many different goals and objectives a person or family might have for for their assets.  Some might include:

  • Invest money for retirement
  • Maintain your purchasing power over time
  • Invest in something that will provide a safe and reliable income stream
  • Keep your money safe and protected
  • Pass wealth to your heirs in a tax-efficient manner
  • Estate Planning
  • Provide financially for your family or loved ones in the case of an unexpected death
  • Reduce or avoid taxes on your investments
  • Invest money for your children or grandchilren's college education
  • Invest in something that is designed to minimize fluctuation and volatility

These are just a few and there are countless additional objectives or goals you may have. It is my job to help you uncover those goals and then while taking your complete financial picture into consideration I will work with you to develop and implement comprehesive solutions designed to work toward meeting those goals.  I will then continuously monitor the plan. 

 

The Process

 

  • LPL Financial Advisor and Client shall work together to mutually define the client's personal and financial goals, needs, and priorities that are relevant to the scope of the engagement.  (In order to arrive at such a definition, the advisor will need to explore the client's values, attitudes, expectations, and time horizons as they affect the client's goals, needs, and priorities.)
  • Obtain quantitative information and documents
  • Analyzing and evaluating the clients information
  • Identifying and evaluating financial planning alternatives
  • Developing the financial planning recommendations
  • Presenting the financial planning recommendations
  • Agreeing on implementation responsibilities
  • Selecting products and services for implemenation
  • Defining monitoring responsibilities
